Last night for dinner, I tried a different recipe. Ragi is something that I generally add to the flour while making rotis. But I tried flaxseed meal also along with ragi yesterday.

Ingredients:

  • Wheat flour/ multigrain atta – 2 cups
  • Ragi flour /Finger Millet flour – 1 cup
  • Flaxseed meal / Ground flaxseeds – 1 cup
  • Salt – as needed
  • Warm water – sufficient to knead the dough
  • Azwain – 1 tsp
  • Oil-to roast rotis

Ragi Alsi ki Roti Recipe Instructions:

  1. Mix all the ingredients except water in a large bowl.
  2. Mix well by slowly adding water and knead into soft smooth dough.
  3. Set it aside for an hour.
  4. Then divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll out rotis.
  5. Cook with little oil on both sides till golden brown.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Wheat flour/ multigrain atta

  • 1 cup Flaxseed meal/Ground flaxseeds 
  • Salt as needed
  • Warm water sufficient to knead the dough
  • tsp Ajwain/carom seeds
  • Oil to roast rotis

Instructions
 

  • Mix all the ingredients except water in a large bowl.
  • Mix well by slowly adding water and knead into soft smooth dough.
  • Set it aside for an hour.
  • Then divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll out rotis.
  • Cook with little oil on both sides till golden brown.

*  Use only warm water for kneading the dough. Do not use cold or hot water.
** While patting, you can use oil instead of water.

  1. Ragi roti is healthy but making ragi roti is little bit different comparing with wheat flour.
    However, flaxseed ragi roti with chicken curry is not only healthy but also a mouth-watering item esp for me.
    Moreover, it is little bit difficult to prepare that roti as we are not accustomed to that preparation.
