Heat oil in a pressure handi (or a pressure cooker will also do). Add the spices and stir. Add the onions and green chillies and sauté.
Once the onions turn golden brown, add the ginger garlic paste and mix. Add tomatoes as well.
Add the red chilli powder and turmeric and cook till the oil comes out. Now add the mutter and water, then simmer. Once the water comes to boil add the rice, salt and the coriander.
Close the lid and pressure cook.
Notes
* Always pressure cook tomato rice on a low flame. This prevents burning at the bottom.
