Ingredients

  • 1 cup Flaxseed (Avise ginjalu)
  • 1 cup Sesame seeds (Til / Nuvvulu Seeds)
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 3 pods Garlic
  • Salt as required
  • 15 Red chillies

Instructions

  • Take a frying pan.
  • Dry roast the sesame seeds and flax seeds separately until aromatic.
  • Let them cool.
  • Fry the red chillies in a little oil and cool.
  • Put all these ingredients in a mixer jar except garlic.
  • Grind to a coarse powder.
  • Now add garlic, and grind for few seconds.
  • Transfer the contents to a fresh airtight container.
  • Store in cool dry place.

Notes

* Make sure all the ingredients are cooled before grinding otherwise a lot of oil is released in the grinding. Remember, the powder that you make should be free-flowing and not sticky or lumpy.
** While grinding, do not do it continuously at a stretch. Grind for a few seconds and stop and again repeat the same. When you grind any nuts or seeds that release the oil, intermittent grinding is the best thing to follow.
*** The number of red chillies can be reduced or increased according to your taste.
